The following photographs were sent to me by Carolanne. For the most part they are just general views of Taylor cemetery, the same as my Bordwell in Laois ones. They do give an idea of what the old Irish graveyards are like. You can easily see the lichens on the stones, the ivy growing all over the place, the remnants of the old church.

This is a Protestant graveyard, I'd have known that immediately once I saw the square clock tower in the distance in the first photo. The thing is though, a lot of the old Protestant churches were built on the grounds of older Catholic churches and sometimes, the oldest Catholic headstones are to be found in the local Protestant graveyard. You always know the Catholic headstones by the letters I.H.S.
